About the role
FixaKitchen is looking for a motivated and reliable technician to join our growing team. You will diagnose, repair, service and install a wide range of commercial catering equipment and refrigeration systems across Cape Town.
We work on restaurant refrigerators and freezers, cold rooms, ice machines, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, mixers, extraction systems and custom stainless-steel projects. No two days are the same.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults on commercial refrigeration and catering equipment.
- Carry out repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Install commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment.
- Perform leak detection, refrigerant recovery and gas charging where qualified.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
- Complete service reports using the FixaKitchen Portal.
- Maintain a high level of workmanship and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly with customers while on site.
- Keep company tools, equipment and vehicles clean and organised.
- Follow all safety procedures and industry regulations.
Requirements
- Experience working on commercial catering equipment or refrigeration systems.
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to travel within the Western Cape when required.
Preferred qualifications
PREFERRED EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE
Commercial refrigerators and freezers; cold rooms; ice machines; display fridges; wine coolers; commercial and combi ovens; deep fryers; grills; salamanders; dishwashers; glass washers; mixers; slicers; vacuum packers; stainless-steel fabrication; and kitchen extraction systems.
ADVANTAGEOUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Refrigeration qualification.
- SAQCC Gas Authorisation.
- Electrical qualification.
- Trade Test or Red Seal.
- Commercial kitchen equipment experience.
- Welding or stainless-steel fabrication experience.
